I'm wondering if there is a better way to simplify the DXF down through LibreCAD or if anyone has any recommendations on how to improve my process. It seemed like it was reducing the amount of points but it still failed when importing into CREO. I converted the jpg attached with a free online converter to dxf then loaded it into libreCAD and used the "create polylines from existing segments" tool. The only difference is that all the segments of polyline are a single entity. You draw polyline exactly as you would draw a line (see above). LibreCad prompts you to with 'Specify first point'. Sometimes the DXF files are too complex to let me import them as a sketch into CREO, so I downloaded LibreCAD hoping I could convert lines to polylines helping the import into creo. polyline Specify first point Specify next point Specify next point or undo You type polyline on the commandline. This helps to simplify the sketch by using polylines instead of the lines in the dxf.

You cant save or export single layers in LibreCAD. to move line endpoints, polyline vertices or resize circles. Here is how to do it: Type PEDIT and Press ENTER. Left click again to place the label at its new position. To convert LINE to Polyline, you need to use the PEDIT command, which makes it more complicated than doing the opposite operation. I use PTC Creo to draw sheetmetal parts for laser cutting and when I do more complicated signs I import a dxf into a sketch, then create a planar feature and project the sketch as a cutout in the planar feature. Left click and drag the blue square, then you can release the mouse button and move the lable.
